Another Podcast

Episode 56 from the Nucastle board. A mixture of old tracks (using 1210's and CD's) and newish aswell. Went for a more pounding tribal edged mix for this as I've gettin right back into tribal techno over the past few months. I am always modest like but it is a canny comprehensive tracklist if you bother your arse to research what year and how some of the tracks were released. I get alot more satisfaction out of digging into the history of techno than just playing a load of new tunes, although saying that there is alot of new stuff on here but its about getting the right balance and I believe this mix epitomises that, see what you think eh?

Big reviews for this and I for one am not suprised in the slightest, fucking huge band and it will be interesting to see how the new lineup gets on.

One band I need to see in the near future definitively.

Another one from yours truly..................................

Octobers Trance mix from me, some amazing tunes being released recently. Really strong productions coming from the genre at the minute, new producers entering the scene consistently, maybe the last half of 2008 the music was sounding somewhat samey and generic, 2009 has been very different in my honest opinion. Fresh labels, producers and structuring of tracks is making trance music alot more exciting and interesting, so much more character and depth to trance recently which makes putting sets together a challenge for even the best of Dj's. Its fantastic to see labels from the north east releasing some of the best music aswell, it can only be good for the scene up here in the future and most importantly the present. Namely Infra, Neuro and Unearthed.

Another lost album to behold!

This didn't actually get a release but found its way into the maintstream eventually in 2000. I am massive fan of rare recordings and demo's, its the rawness and the unpretentiousness of it all i think. This is a good listen, The Kinks' music was and still very much is amazing. A week off!

Its been a long time coming, i know that much. Life has been hectic recently and its somewhat enlightening (i'll let you work that one out) to just take a step back and survey all that i have done and also own. Its also dangerous. Time to calm down they say, time for you to fuck off i say.

Long days, late nights, all part of young life without doubt. Its midweek when it all catches up though for me, thats why a few bevvies after training on a wednesday lightens the load for real! In fact a bevvie every day after work does the job more efficiently. It certainly did last week, 20+ hours overtime means two weekends of offside behaviour to come.

I have got right back into clobber recently after a break away, Shadow Goretex on the way, fucking beautiful i tell you!
